The Embassy of Turkey in Chisinau celebrated the 92nd anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. On this occasion, the Embassy hosted a reception to which it invited ambassadors working in Chisinau, people of culture and politicians. The guests were met with traditional Turkish food and music, IPN reports.
Ambassador Mehmet Selim Kartal said that since the Republic of Turkey was created, it has successfully dealt with numerous challenges and will continue to cope with them. “It’s clear that all our successes, in any area, were achieved in virtue of the republic. We are sure that the young generation will achieve much greater results in the future,” he stated.
As regards the Republic of Moldova, the ambassador noted that the country also faced many challenges since the proclamation of its independence. “We want Moldova to achieve success on the path of European integration in peace and quietness. We reiterate our support for achieving this objective. Moreover, our contribution to the development of the brotherly Gagauz community, with which we have special relations, will continue until this keeps its own identity and culture as an indispensable part of Moldova,” said the ambassador.
The troupe of the radio and television company of Turkey was also invited to the reception. Two painters made in real time the portrait of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who is the founder and first President of the Republic of Turkey. Within the event, there was sold a calendar with paintings made by Moldovan painters, including from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. The proceeds from the sale of calendars will be donated to the organization SOS Autism.
