Embassy of Slovakia to be opened in Chisinau next spring
The Embassy of the Republic of Slovakia in Moldova will be opened next spring. The announcement was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca in a news conference on November 13, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The minister said that he discussed the issue in a meeting with his Slovak counterpart Miroslav Lajčák in Bratislava. “Such a decision shows the importance that Slovakia attaches to the regional developments in Moldova and its interest in strengthening the bilateral relations and will certainly support us on the path to European integration,” stated Iurie Leanca.
He also said that they conferred on the current state of the Moldovan-Slovak cooperation relations. There was emphasized the necessity of developing them further at an ascending pace by paying reciprocal high-level visits in 2013.
According to Iurie Leanca, the Slovak authorities are in favor of offering Moldova European prospects and will continue to share their European integration experience with institutions working in a number of areas. In this respect, the interlocutors agreed to stage the meetings of the bilateral European Integration Commission and the Intergovernmental Commercial-Economic Cooperation Commission in Chisinau next year.
