The Embassy of Romania in Chisinau reiterates that it does not interfere in the internal political and social situation in Moldova. It issued a statement on the subject after a Russian news portal published a news story about the alleged participation of a vehicle of the Embassy in a march mounted in Chisinau on April 6, IPN reports.
The Embassy says that it took note of the news item published on rusnovosti24.ru with surprise and concern. It denies the assertions and criticizes the Russian agency for lack of accuracy in its reports.
According to the Embassy, Romania is consistent in the commitments assumed from the moment Moldova declared its independence and respects Moldova’s sovereign right to decide its internal and external policy directions.
The Romanian authorities are convinced that the implementation of the democratic values and the integration into the EU will lead to the creation of a dynamic economy and free society in Moldova, for the benefit of all the people, regardless of the political affiliation, religious beliefs and ethnicity. United in the diversity of its nations, Europe is the most suitable development model for Moldova.
