“We are witnessing worrisome spread of inaccurate and alarming news about the sanitary situation in Italy, which does not reflect the reality of a contagious phenomenon that remains rather limited to particular zones inside several regions,” the Embassy of Italy in Chisinau said, noting the Government of Italy reacts promptly and based on maximum transparency and clarity to the epidemiological urgency caused by the COVID-19, IPN reports.

Restrictive measures were taken only in two zones: one in Lombardy region and another one in Veneto region. And these represent only 0.05% of the Italy’s territory. As regards the other cases related to the two mentioned hotbeds, the necessary measures were taken in the given localities depending on the gravity of the situation, such as the closing of schools and suspension of sports and cultural events, especially as preventative measures.

Italy cooperates with the neighboring states in working out harmonized protocols and common action plans for supervising the persons who enter these countries.
