The Embassy of China in Moldova donated about 50 book titles about the history, culture and geography of the People’s Republic of China to the National Children’s Library “Ion Creanga”. The over 400 books, which are in Russian and English, are to be distributed to the branches of the library, IPN reports.
Zhang Yanjun, First Secretary of the Embassy of China, said the 400 books were thoroughly chosen so that they offer broad information about China, whose civilization is over five millenniums old. “The book is a small window through which you see the whole world. I hope that these books will open for you too the window to knowing the culture, different traditions and people’s customs of China. I’m strongly convinced that possessing knowledge, you can also become promoters of the culture and friendship between the two peoples – China and Moldova,” he stated.
Head of the Chisinau Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said the donation will enable the children to know the multiple discoveries of the Chinese civilization. In the municipality of Chisinau, there are many kindergartens and schools where Chinese is taught. Knowledge of the language helps to better know the Chinese culture and traditions.
