An elderly man from Panasesti village of Straseni district died in a grenade explosion on November 3.

Contacted by IPN, head of the Panasesti police posts Ion Partac said the man of about 70 was at a neighbor when the blast occurred. The victim’s son told the police that his family never had firearms or other munitions at home and he does not know how his father came into possession of the grenade.

A bomb squad is on the spot. The circumstances of the incident are being established.
