Elite was able to generate appropriate model of economic development, Valeriu Lazar

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said the political and economic elite of Moldova was able to generate an economic development model that is in line with the possibilities and resources of the country and that will significantly improve the living standards. The official made the statements in an interview for Radio Moldova, IPN reports.

“During the independence years, there were tried different models – from the total liberalization of the economy to the utopist intention of reconstructing the economic management system that we had during the Soviet period. I think that today we came closer to that model that we must follow in order to make progress,” said the official.

According to Valeriu Lazar, the identified model is based on the creation of a favorable boyishness environment that would enable to attract foreign and local investments, to create workplaces and to produce competitive products and services for export and for the home market. One of the main objectives of the Government is to create new jobs.

Valeriu Lazar said that by implementing this model in Balti, there were created
3,000 new workplaces, while in Ungheni – over 1,000. Foreign and national businessmen implement different projects in agriculture, regional development projects. “When there is cooperation between the authorities and the business community, the problem of workplaces cam be solved,” he stated.
