Eleven hurt in trolleybus accident
Eleven people were hurt in an accident in the morning of January 8 when the driver of a Chisinau trolleybus crashed into a pole. Nine of them have been hospitalized, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Gheorghe Morgoci, the head of the municipal Electric Transport Service, told the City Hall's ordinary meeting on Monday that the blame for the accident lays entirely with the 24-year-old driver, who allowed unauthorized people into his compartment and got distracted.
Health Division head Luminita Suveica said the hospitalized persons suffered fractures of arms, brain concussions and bruises. None of the patients is critical and all are expected to recover within one month.
Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca instructed the Electric Transport Service to offer compensation to the injured persons. He further requested additional training for bus and trolleybus drivers.
