The students of the Chisinau Lyceum “Mihai Eminescu” will go to classes in two shifts. Such a decision was taken after 11 classrooms were flooded as a result of the recent rain, acting head of the municipal Division of Education, Youth and Sport Alexandru Fleas announced in the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, IPN reports.
Alexandru Fleas said there were inundated five classrooms located on the third floor and six classrooms situated on the fourth floor. These classrooms cannot be rehabilitated until September 1, 2017. Therefore, the students will go to lessons in two shifts.
The official also said that the classrooms were flooded because of the roof, which is in a bad state. This started to be repaired last year. A sum of 1.3 million lei was allocated from the municipal reserve fund for alleviating the consequences of inundation.
According to Alexandru Fleas, the current and extensive repair works in schools go on. In some of the education institutions, these were completed, while in others are to only start following the last round of tender contests held recently.
