Two electronic radar panels were set up on Florilor St in Chisinau’s Rascani district. These show the speed at which drivers travel.
Contacted by IPN, head of Rascani district Mihai Carlig said the panels were installed near two education institutions with the aim of warning the drivers to adjust the speed so as to avoid road accidents. Both of the panels were donated by a company that promised to offer more such devices for dangerous areas.
Chief of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Marin Maxian has told IPN that the system hasn’t been homologated with the legal framework and the data from these radars are not used by the Inspectorate to ascertain an offense.
