Electronic database at Balti Museum of History and Ethnography

The Museum of History and Ethnography of Balti created a database of museum parts that represent the institution’s patrimony. The museum’s director Ludmila Dobrogeanu said that 5,400 objects of the 30,000 that form the institution’s patrimony have been included in the database so far, IPN reports.

The creation of the database was possible following the outfitting of the Balti museum with all the necessary equipment within the Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova Cross Border Cooperation Program. The equipment includes six computers, a printer, apparatus for conserving the patrimony, a camera and other devices.

Besides the Museum of History and Ethnography of Balti, the program also covers the Bucovina Village Museum of Suceava, Romania, and the Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Chernovtsy, Ukraine. The actions are coordinated by the Regional Office of Cross Border Cooperation of Suceava. The program is financed by the EU through the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument and is co-financed by the states participating in the program.
