There will be no power cuts on Tuesday as well as the forecasted electricity demand will be fully satisfied through commercial contracts, said the state-owned enterprise Moldelectrica, quoted by IPN.

Emergency supply contracts between Moldelectrica and system operators in Ukraine or Romania will be used depending on the real-time evolution of electricity consumption and its generation. The exact amount of emergency power will be decided closer to the delivery time.

"The price of emergency electricity is higher than the price of electricity on the market for the next day (PZU), but it does not have a double price, as it is circulated. For this reason, we urge you to get informed from official sources," reads a press release.

Moldelectrica calls on the citizens to economically consume electricity and to postpone, where possible, energy consumption for off-peak hours.
