Electricity demand for Monday met, projected to be by 17% higher

Electricity consumption on the right bank of the Nistru River on Monday, January 27, is expected to be by 17% higher than on Sunday. Energocom said that it reserved the necessary capacity at the border with Romania in order to provide consumers with electricity, IPN reports.

The electricity demand will be satisfied mostly with imports, based on bilateral contracts, and with purchases made on the Romanian Commodities Exchange.

About 10% of the consumption needs for Monday are to be covered by renewable energy, mainly wind and solar energy. On the other hand, due to the higher-than-normal temperatures during this period, the thermoelectric plants in Chisinau and Balti will produce less electricity.
