Electricity consumption up by 2.9%
In the first semester of this year, electricity consumption in Moldova, excluding the Transnistrian region, was 172.4 million kWh, or 2.9% higher than in last year’s same period, reports Info-Prim Neo.
According to a communique from the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), the amount of electricity delivered increased in all of the zones of consumption, the highest rates being 4.2% and 3.2%, which were registered in the zones provided by RED Nord-Vest and RED Union Fenosa. In the zone covered by RED Nord consumption went up only by 0.9%.
RED “Union Fenosa” provided 1,273.3 million kWh to its consumers, the enterprise having 73% of the electricity market share; RED-Nord – 300.7 million kWh, and RED Nord-Vest – 153.4 million kWh. The level of payments for the electricity used throughout the country was 100.9%
In this period, the providers have bought electric energy summing to 1,990 million kWh, or 1.4% more that in last year’s same period. The volume of electricity generated in Moldova (the right bank of the Nistru, except TPP Moldoveneasca) was of 467.3 million kWh; 5.5% less that in last year’s same period, and is about ¼ of the total energy bought. Foreign acquisitions were of 1522.7 million kWh (+3.7%).
