The Chisinau and Balti-based electric transport managements transported the majority of passengers within the first half of the year, almost twofold more than the auto transport. About 103.1 mln passenger travelled by trolleybuses, by 2.5% more against the similar period last year. At the same time, the auto carriers served about 51.7 mln passenger, by buses and minivans, by 3.2 mln less (-6%) against the similar period last year. The railway transport had about 2.2 mln passengers, by 7.2% more, air transport – 184.8 thousand passengers (+7.6%). The highest increase, 79.1%, was registered in the case of the fluvial transport – 54.8 thousand passengers. At the same time the covered distance grew by 133.9 mln passengers-km (+13.4%).
