Electors expected to vote at 2,219 polling stations

Voting-eligible citizens can cast their ballots at 2,219 polling stations, of which 1,988 were established on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, including 30 polling stations intended for people living on the left bank of the Nistru. As many as 231 polling stations were set up outside the country, in 37 countries, and three polling stations are with postal voting, IPN reports.

According to the Central Election Commission, all the polling stations in the country opened at 7:00 a.m., including the 30 polling stations organized for voters from the left bank of the Nistru, where the voting process began without incidents.

The basic voter rolls include 2,714,239 electors.

As for the polling stations set up abroad, the CEC said that the voting process started at 07:00 a.m. local time without reported problems. Polling stations abroad will be open until 09:00 p.m. local time in each state.

Thus, the voting process is underway in Japan, where the first persons already voted. Also, voting is already taking place in 36 polling stations in China, India, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the State of Israel, the Russian Federation, Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
