The electoral competitors and participants in the referendum are urged to sign the Declaration of Conduct concerning the conditions and method of providing financial, material and nonmaterial support for the election campaign prior to the parliamentary elections and the national consultative referendum of February 24, 2019, IPN reports.
The Central Election Commission said the declaration is a document that regulates the conduct in the election campaign of electoral contenders and participants in the referendum and aims to ensure transparency in the process of financing and supporting the campaign, to counteract the abuses, including of administrative resources, and to create uniform conduct standards.
In accordance with the electoral legislation, the Code of Conduct on the holding and covering of the election campaign preceding the parliamentary elections of the Republic of Moldova and the national consultative referendum of February 24, 2019 will be distributed to election runners and media outlets for being signed before the start of the election campaign.
