Elections in Transnistria ‘more boring” than on right bank of Nistru

The elections in the Transnistrian region were more boring than the last three legislative elections held in Moldova, said the head of the Association for Civil Rights Protection “Adjuta-Civis” Andrei Luchian, who, together with other observers, declared that the elections in Transnistria were conducted in accordance with the electoral norms, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the press in Tiraspol. According to Inter-FM, the representative of the Party of Regions of Ukraine Oleg Tsareov told a news conference held in Tiraspol that the elections for the Supreme Soviet were conducted in a calmer atmosphere compared with the legislative elections held in his country. The mass media in Transnistria reported that the final results of Sunday’s elections are to be announced in the near future. The voter turnout was 43% and the elections will be thus validated. The elections were monitored by observers from France, Belarus, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine and from other unrecognized regions like South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
