The voting-eligible Romanian citizens who live or are temporarily abroad can vote in the presidential elections in Romania at any of the polling stations established outside the country, using an identity document issued by the Romanian state, valid on election day. These are the identity card, the electronic identity card, the provisional identity card, the diplomatic passport, including electronic one. Also, the right to vote can be exercised with the service passport, the electronic service passport, the simple passport, the simple electronic passport, the simple temporary passport, the military service card, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania said that voting abroad in the first round of the presidential election will take place during three days: Friday, November 22, between local hours 12:00 noon and 09:00 p.m.; Saturday, November 23, and Sunday, November 24, between local hours 07:00 a.m. and 09:00 p.m..
Also, voting abroad in the elections for the Romanian Parliament will be held during two days: Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, between 07:00 a.m. and 09:00 p.m. local hours.
In the presidential elections in Romania, the Romanian citizens, including Moldovans with Romanian citizenship, will have to choose between 14 candidates who are both leaders of Romanian political parties and independent candidates.
In the parliamentary elections, 329 deputies and 136 senators are to be elected. More than 10,000 people are contending for a parliamentary seat in the 42 constituencies.
For the Romanian elections abroad, 950 polling stations will be available, of which 59 polling stations will be established in the Republic of Moldova.
