Election of TRM president in progress, while of public TV channel director postponed
The president of the National Public Broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova” (TRM) is being elected today, while the director of the public radio station will be voted in tomorrow, on February 6. The election of the public TV channel director was postponed. The company's Supervisory Board is now examining and quizzing the 27 candidates for TRM president. The meeting is broadcast live on Radio Moldova Muzical, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Supervisory Board's chairman Eugen Rybka, the main criteria for selecting the candidates is professionalism in public broadcasting and managerial abilities.
Recently, the Court of Appeals decided that the director of the public TV channel will not be elected on February 6.
Eugen Rybka said the Court suspended the decision to dismiss the present director of the public television channel Adela Railean until the problem is solved. The Supervisory Board was given 15 days to appeal the Court of Appeals' decision to the Supreme Court of Justice.
Rybka said the Board can appeal the decision passed by the Court of Appeals or expect the final decision of the Court.
The Court of Appeals accepted Adela Railean's application, whereby she challenges the Supervisory Board's decision to dismiss her, but rejected a similar application filed by the former TRM president Valentin Todercan.
