The Supreme Council of Magistracy didn’t elect the president of the Supreme Court of Justice in its January 26 meeting. The Council’s press officer Carolina Mangar has told IPN that the postponement was asked by the only candidate running for the presidency of the Supreme Court of Justice Mihai Poalelungi, who invoked health reasons.
The Supreme Council of Magistracy is to set a new date of the meeting where to have a vote to choose the president of the Supreme Court of Justice.
In today’s meeting, the Council was to also elect the vice president of the Supreme Court of Justice, but the only candidate Tatiana Raducanu didn’t garner the necessary number of votes to be voted in. Therefore, a new contest will be announced to fill the given post.
