The independent candidates and political parties that decided to take part in the campaign preceding the elections for mayor of Chisinau and local councilors will be able to file the documents for being registered as runners from April 18, Info-Prim Neo reports. The documents can be submitted to the Chisinau Distich Electoral Council to the address: 83 Stefan cel Mare Blvd., office 9; from April 18 until May 5 inclusive, except nonworking days, between 9am and 1pm. On April 18, the registration will start at 1pm and end at 4pm. On April 16, jurist Iulian Balan was elected chairman of the Chisinau Distich Electoral Council, jurist Cristina Boaghi – deputy chairwoman, while legal consultant Victor Pertu – secretary. The Council consists of 11 members, four of whom were fielded by the four parliamentary parties, three by the Central Election Commission; two are jurists of the Chisinau Municipal Council, while two represent Chisinau courts. Among the documents that the candidates and parties must present are the CV, the statement with the consent to run for mayor or municipal councilor, the statement on property, bank deposits, securities, inherited capital and the incomes for the last two years and the sources of these incomes. The candidates will also submit a statement showing their readiness to abandon the posts incompatible with the position of mayor if they are elected.
