Eighteenth legislature dissolved
The 18th Parliament of Moldova has been dissolved under a decree issued by Acting President Mihai Ghimpu, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I promised I will observe the law and dissolve the legislature and that day has come. Those who said that Ghimpu is an usurper and will not dissolve Parliament can convince themselves that this is not true. It is hard for me to sign this decree as our people voted for a change, but the legislative body did not have four years at the disposal to bring about this change,” Mihai Ghimpu said before signing the decree.
“We, the Alliance for European Integration, initiated the change, improved Moldova's image and removed the monopoly held by a ruling party in all the spheres of life. We showed the European Union that Moldova is a democratic state,” Mihai Ghimpu stated.
The Central Election Commission is to convene to start organizing the November 28 early parliamentary elections.
