Eight persons were classed as suspects in the case concerning the planning of public disorder. Following searches carried out in Balti, Chisinau, Drochia and Ungheni, drafts with contact numbers of persons and a sum of 380,000 lei were seized. The ill-gotten gains were to be used to recruit, transport and remunerate persons incited to stage public disorder, IPN reports, with reference to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases.
There were also seized drafts concerning the creation of a pseudo authority designed to usurp power in the state. The evidence is to be analyzed and classified correspondingly.
The eight suspects aged between 23 and 41 include two women. The persons are suspected of taking actions to prepare public disorder, including to transport persons from different regions of the country to Chisinau. These were presumably coopted to put up violent resistance to the police at demonstrations scheduled for the immediate period.
Among the suspects are persons who were to identify police officers who maintained public order at protests and to intimidate and discredit these.
The investigated offense is punished with four to eight years behind bars.
