Eight persons injured in traffic accidents
Eight persons, three out of whom minors, were injured in car accidents in Chisinau on Friday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Chisinau Traffic Police, the victims included an old woman.
A 23-year-old man was struck by a car on Zelinschi Street at about 10.00. The car left the place of the accident. The young man, who was under the influence, suffered mental shock.
Several hours later, a minor aged 14 was hit by a Renault on the same street. The victim was taken to hospital in a mental shock.
A Gaz-52 truck hit tangentially a 14-year-old girl at the intersection of Ismail and Calea Basarabiei streets. The driver managed to stop swiftly and the girl sustained only contusion of the soft tissues of the thigh.
A 15-year-old boy was struck by a Toyota on Alecu Russo Street, near Saint Trinity Hospital. He suffered mental shock and contusion of the backbone. A woman aged 81 was hit on the same place several hours later. The woman was rushed to the Emergency Hospital and diagnosed with mental shock.
A Ford struck a pedestrian aged 30 on the Chisinau-Bacioi route. The man suffered mental shock, fracture of the maleole on the right side and was taken to the hospital.
An Opel crashed into a Chevrolet on Varniat street at about 18.00. The 25-year-old driver of the Opel needed medical care as he sustained mental shock, contusion of the internal bodies and head wounds.
Close to midnight, a Dacia ran into a Mazda on Tudor Vladimirescu Street. As a result of the impact, the 31-year-old female passenger of the Dacia suffered contusion of the soft tissues of the nose and lips.
About 1,600 road accidents have been reported in Moldova this year.
