Eight persons injured in road accidents

Eight persons received different injuries in traffic accidents in Moldova on Thursday, February 11. Paulina Iakimovski, senior specialist at the Traffic Police Department's PR Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that most of the accidents occurred as a result of speeding and non-adaptation to the weather conditions. The driver of a VAZ-2107 lost control of the car on Stephan the Great Street in Balti town. Making a U-turn, the vehicle crashed into a Seat car. The female passenger of the Seat aged 60 suffered a concussion, contusion of the thorax and fractures. A VAZ-2107 skidded on the ice on the Jevreni – Ustia route in Dubasari district and went straight into a tree on the roadside. A 35-year-old passenger sustained fractures and was rushed to the Criuleni District Hospital. A speeding Mitsubishi Lancer belonging to the Russian Embassy slid sideways on the Chisinau-Tighina route. A 33-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. A VAZ-21213 ran into a parked Mercedes truck on the Chisinau-Leuseni route. Two passengers of the car, a woman aged 22 and a man aged 47, received injures. The traffic police call on the drivers to travel with the lights on, not to speed and avoid trips when there is ice on the roads. Fifty-one more road accidents happened in Moldova on February 11, but they caused no victims.
