The National Library of the Republic of Moldova hosts an exhibition of documents of the life and work of eight notable personalities of the national culture and science, who were born in March.

The Library’s vice director Veronica Borș has told IPN that the exhibition consists of documents from the collections of the National Library, such as books, albums and periodicals, and displays the accomplishments of the representatives of the Romanian culture and science included in the National Calendar 2022.

The eight personalities are: writer Ion Creangă, composer Eugen Doga, first woman conductor of Moldova Veronica Garștea, greatest Romanian diplomat in history Nicolae Titulescu, singer and composer Mihai Dolgan, theater and film actor, singer, painter, sculptor, photographer and jeweler Eugeniu Ureche, first president of the National Olympic Committee Efim Josanu, Romanian poet, prose writer, essayist, translator and publicist Ana Blandiana, a defender of civil rights in Romania.

“It is homage rendered to personalities from the field of science and culture, who were born in March. By this exhibition, we aim to contribute to promoting these personalities among readers,” stated Veronica Borș.

The exhibit also include the first musical compositions of Eugen Doga, which form part of the collections of the national audiovideotheque, the first printed works of Eugeniu Ureche and Ana Blandiana and other exclusive publications that are part of the National Library’s collections.

The exhibition can be visited at the National Library until March 31, in the exhibition space on the second floor of the central block situated at 78, 31 August 1989 St.
