The works to build two regional hospitals, in Bălți and Cahul, will start in the near future. Representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) during February 7- 11 had been in Chisinau on a technical mission to prepare the launch of the construction works, IPN reports.
In the February 16 meeting of the Cabinet, Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco said the regional hospitals will provide high-performance healthcare for about 1.5 million people in northern and southern Moldova. More exactly, there will be developed and offered modern services to patients with cerebrovascular, neurological and heart diseases. Conditions will be created for treating persons with infectious diseases in a serious or extremely serious state, while the patients with cancer will benefit from treatment with last-generation equipment.
The working group set up at the Ministry of Health proposed updating the pre-feasibility study for the Bălți regional hospital and will provide the data needed for working out a similar study for the regional hospital in Cahul.
The building of the regional hospitals in the municipalities of Bălți and Cahul forms part of the action plans of the Government and the Ministry of Health. The first financing agreement is to be signed by the end of this year.
