EGDPRSP engagements were fulfilled “almost on the whole”
The engagements related to the Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (EGDPRSP) for 2004-2006 were fulfilled “almost on the whole”, fact confirmed by the evaluations of the International Monetary Fund and the International Association for Development, the Minister of Economy and Commerce, Valeriu Lazar declared at a meeting on the obtained results and extending the implementation of EGDPRSP.
According to the minister, the analysis of the situation shows the fact that a part of the objectives included in the Strategy Paper are still actual for the next years, so that the implementation period of EGPRSP will be extended and the planned objectives will be kept.
The PM Vasile Tarlev ordered to create a group which will analyze the results obtained whilst implementing the objectives and priorities of EGPRSP and the social-economic achievements during 2004-2006. The group will formulate and present to the Government proposals of properly organizing activities aimed at instructing the employees of ministries involved in this activity.
As well, a work group for initiating the process of revising and drafting new stipulations for the annexes 5, 6 and 7 of EGPRSP was created. These proposals must be presented until October 2006.
The ministries and other central administrative authorities will create work groups composed of 5-7 persons and until September 25 will revise the annexes and will present them for analysis.
MEC will continue to coordinate the interaction between ministries, central and local authorities, civil society, business and academic environment in order to expand the actions of SCERS. The ministry will collaborate with international financial bodies and with technical assistance donator countries, actions which aim at increasing the official assistance for development related to the implementation of EGPRSP.
