The educational project “We appreciate intelligence”, promoted by StarNet Company, will continue for this school year as well, Info-Prim Neo learned from Irina Ghelbur of the StarNet Public Relations Service. For the third consecutive year, on September 1, StarNet employees attend the opening festivities in 22 lyceums in Chisinau and Ungheni. Over this time, about 16,000 students and 1,500 teachers have been involved in the project “We appreciate intelligence”, which aims to modernize the educational system by implementing information technologies in schools. Free access to Internet, the electronic register of marks, the online community liceu.md, the Success Top contest and quarterly awards for the most diligent students are just a few of the benefits that StarNet brought in Moldovan lyceums. “We appreciate intelligence” is a project launched by StarNet in 2009. Its goals are to support the educational system, to stimulate gifted students in their professional training and encourage them to obtain better results. As part of the project, StarNet created the information portal www.liceu.md, which became the platform of an online community reuniting students, teachers and parents. The site contains information about the participating lyceums, their management plans and about the school results of students. Parents can access the site www.liceu.md for free from anywhere in the world and can view the results of their children by introducing their username and password. The project is a social one, so that partner-schools are provided with free access to the Internet and students are stimulated with quarterly awards and diplomas through the Success Rating contest.
