Educational Advising Center announces 2008 Merit Scholarships for Moldova’s best students
The Educational Advising Center (EAC) has announced the 2008 Merit Scholarships Program, held under the aegis of the Rectors’ Council, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The program offers, on a competition basis, annual scholarships for the best students all over the country, the value of which varies on a degree-basis: 3rd degree – 4,000 lei, 2nd degree – 6,000 lei, 1st - 10,000 lei.
Eligible for the program are the 2nd -6th year students from all departments of the Moldovan higher education institutions, with the average mark score for all studying years not less then: 9 - for students from social-humanities studies departments; 8,5 - for real, technical and medical-biological studies; 8 - for students with disabilities and/or orphans.
Participants shall fill in a participation form which is available at the Educational Advising Center, university chancelleries and dean’s offices, and at EAC’s website www.eac.md.
The application forms shall be accompanied by a resume, which shall describe the most relevant extracurricular activities undertaken during graduate studies, with specific confirmations attached, area of interests, abilities; an academic certificate confirmed by the pro-rector of education which must contain the average mark score for each semester, including the academic results for the 2007/2008 winter session and the average mark score for all studying years; a letter of recommendation from a professor familiar with the applicant’s activity (the letter shall be signed, confirmed by relevant university officials, enclosed in a sealed envelope and attached to the file); copies of materials confirming participation in scientific conferences and seminars, student contests or similar events. Confirmation of research activities will be an advantage.
The file shall also comprise a copy of the identity card and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Disabled and orphan applicants will have to attach confirming documents issued by the relevant offices.
The complete files shall be submitted to the Educational Advising Center, located on 148 Stefan cel Mare Blvd, off. 22, tel.: 221167; 221172, www.eac.md (Merit Scholarships, Application Form). The deadline for submissions is 4 April 2008, 14:00. Incomplete files will not be considered, and those filled in incorrectly will be rejected at the pre-selection stage.
