Education process in Chișinău could be back to ‘usual’

The Chișinău authorities are considering reverting the education process back to “usual”. The subject was discussed a City Hall meeting on Monday.

Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici said the National Extraordinary Health Commission and the Ministry of Education have been asked to revise some of their guidance. “We hope our petitions will be heeded and adjustments will be made to improve the situation,” said Cutasevici.

According to data presented at the meeting, 106 students, 74 teachers and 20 non-teaching staff from Chișinău’s 147 schools have tested positive for coronavirus.

The Chișinău administration is reiterating its call to parents to respect prevention measures, such as taking their children’s temperature before sending them to school, and leaving them at home if any symptoms occur.

Starting Monday, school meals are served as usual, in cafeterias and with hot meals included. Last week, 65 schools organized packaged meals.
