The new Education Code could be passed by the present Parliament until it is dissolved, Minister of Eduction Leonid Bujor considers. He said he will submit the updated and improved Education Code to the Government and then Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. Leonid Bujor said the draft Education Code might be adopted by the Government by October 1 and would be then discussed in Parliament in two readings. The minister stressed that his further steps will depend on the date of the early legislative elections. The draft Education Code, which replaces the Education Law of 1995, was made public at the end of April. After a month of debates, the document was to be adopted. Early in June, Prime Minister Vlad Filat imposed a moratorium on the draft code for an unlimited period, arguing the document needs to be examined thoroughly as scientists of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova are dissatisfied with its content.
