The Ministry of Education aims to implement partial accreditation in the higher education system. In a discussion with journalists, Deputy Minister of Education Loretta Handrabura said it is a natural process to which they tend. There will be accredited only the faculties that will teach disciplines in accordance with the quality standards, IPN reports.
The official said that in 2012 in Moldova there were 110,000 students, in 2011 – 102,000, while this year the number of high school graduates fell by over 3,000. As a result, the number of places in universities will also be reduced.
Loretta Handrabura said it is hard to determine how many university graduates start work. The official information refers only to the period when the fresh graduates inform where they found work. In the near future, the Ministry of Education will institute a mechanism for tracking the professional route of university graduates, which will provide real employment figures.
