Education Ministry says how testing in primary and secondary education will take place

The national testing in primary and secondary education institutions will be held with the physical presence of students and by obeying all the measures to prevent infection with the novel coronavirus, IPN reports.

In a press briefing, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Lilia Pogolșa said the national testing in primary education is mandatory for the students of the fourth grade. All the students will be admitted to these tests, regardless of the school standing, and everyone will be allowed to pass to the next grade.

The testing will take place on May 12-20 and will involve 33,300 students. The test papers will be transmitted electronically to education institutions on each exam day, by 30 minutes before the start of the exam. Each education institution will ensure the printing of tests, according to the number of students attending on that day. The students who will be in quarantine for health or other reasons will not be obliged to take the national tests for being admitted to the fifth grade.

As regards the secondary school graduation exams, these will be organized during June 3-14 for 29,700 students. The additional session for those who will be absent from exams for health or other objective reasons will be held after June 23.

The Ministry suggests a new method for grading test papers, namely at education intuitions. The school assessment commission will be agreed at the meeting of the municipal district exams commission. This commission will also approve the composition of the municipal district commissions for examining challenges. The challenges will be examined at a municipal district center.
