Education Ministry is to find 1,500 psychologists by September 1
About 1,500 specialists are needed in order to institute units of psychologists in education institutions. “We consider every school must have by a psychologist. Priority will be given to the education institutions with a large number of students,” Minister of Education Leonid Bujor said in the meeting of the governmental commission for the protection of children who remained without parental care, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The minster stressed that the psychologists are to be identified within a rather short period of time. If not all the necessary specialists are found, there will be organized re-qualification courses for teachers.
The project to introduce units of psychologists in schools was approved by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family and the Ministry of Justice. After it is approved by the Ministry of Finance, the project wall be submitted to the Government.
Leonid Bujor said that while he was in Paris and Washington on visits, he tried to persuade the partners of the Quality Education in Rural Areas Project to extend it for another two years. On May 26, he was informed that the World Bank accepted the Moldovan Government's proposal and will provide an additional US$5 million for the project.
