“Besides knowledge and skills, the teachers encouraged us to deal with the difficulties and to assume responsibilities. They significantly influenced our formation as personalities, determined our most important decisions for our future. This explains the major impact the pedagogue has on each person and on society in general,” Minister of Education Anatolie Topală stated on the occasion of the Gala of Laureates of the National Contest “Pedagogue of the Year”, 2021 edition, which was staged by the Ministry of Education and Research on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

“We must admit that our current personality was modeled by the work and perseverance of our teachers, their wisdom with which they guided our steps, the kindness and attention with which they embraced us. At different stages in life, we all had particular models we admire: either the first teacher or the head teacher or the teacher of the favorite discipline, the trainer, the music manager, the scientific manager at the faculty or the one that who helped us achieve the first accomplishments in the profession.”

There were awarded the winners in three categories “Educator of the Year, “Teacher of the Year” and “Professor of the Year”.

The Third Prize in all the three categories was 15,000 lei, the Second Prize – 25,000 lei, while the First Prize – 50,000 lei.
