Education minister goes to Washington
Minister of Education Leonid Bujor will be taking part in the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Education for All – Fast Track Initiative Project that will be held in Washington on May 5 and 6. Moldova has been a member of the Board for two years and benefited from two grant tranches of US$4.4 million each intended for repairing kindergartens, purchasing teaching aids, books, toys and furniture, setting up playgrounds and formulating education policy documents, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the meeting, the minister will speak about Moldova's experience in the field of early education, which is considered by the foreign partners a successful one. Leonid Bujor will ask allocating the third tranche of the grant for supporting the reform of the early education system. 250 Moldovan settlements do not yet have kindergartens or community centers.
The minister will also have meetings with World Bank officials, centering on the vocational education, high-quality education in rural areas and other issues concerning the reformation of the eduction sector.
