Education level of young persons dependent on parents' level

The education level of the young people is influenced by the education level of their parents, says a study carried out by the National Bureau of Statistics in the second quarter of 2009, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Bureau, this fact is proven by a coefficient called gamma, which is used to analyze the education level of the persons aged between 15 and 34 and that of their parents. It showed that the highest education level of a young person was 67% dependent on the highest education level of the father and 69% dependent on that of the mother. The father's education level has a greater influence on the education level of the son than of the daughter (70% against 64%), while the mother's education level influences the daughter's education level more (0.71% against 0.68%).
