The education institutions of Moldova will reopen on September 1 this year. Each school, after consultations with parents, will have to choose one of the seven learning methods that were presented today by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research so that the students and teachers obey the safety norms, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, Minister of Education Igor Sharov presented the seven learning methods, noting that the managers of education institutions will discuss with teachers and parents so as to choose the most suitable model, with the necessary adjustments.
One of the methods implies the physical presence of students at the school and is applicable to institutions that do not have a very large number of students. If this is chosen, the breaks between classes will be longer so as to manage to ventilate and disinfect the classrooms. The schools can also choose to organize the education process in two shifts or opt for combined learning – one day online and one day at school. Another method is hybrid learning when half of the education process takes place at school and another half online. There is also the alternate variant based on two shifts, at a distance of one week, and distance learning throughout the school year.
Igor Sharov said the decision concerning the reopening of the education institutions for the 2020-2021 school year will be taken by the local public administration of the second level based on the inter-sector assessment decision of the institution, in accordance with the recommendations of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission.
