The lawyers for the transport companies “Ednateric Trans” and “Transeric Tur” came with a message to notify public opinion and the law enforcement agencies of Moldova and also the foreign embassies, the prospector general, the Government and Parliament, saying the two companies that pay taxes into the state budget continue to be subject to raider attacks.
In a news conference at IPN, lawyer Angela Istrate said that “Ednateric Trans” and “Transeric Tur” provide road transport services in Moldova and on international routes. During the past three years, they have been persecuted with the involvement of the national law enforcers.
The lawyer noted that the two companies in 2019 paid 3 million lei taxes into the state budget. In April, they donated 400,000 lei to the National Clinical Hospital in connection with the pandemic. “Even if these companies are registered legally in the Republic of Moldova and have international passenger transport authorizations, the law enforcement agencies, namely the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases together with the Center for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, start criminal cases against them, over illegal trafficking and illegal migration of persons,” stated Angela Istrate.
She added that attempts have been made to annihilate the two companies since 2018, when a number of criminal cases were fabricated against them over blackmailing, hooliganism and arson, planned by the rivals. In 2020, the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases dropped the cases over blackmailing and hooliganism.
Angela Istrate also said that on August 12 this year, the two companies were subject to searches without a warrant. The searches that were carried out legally deviated from the procedures.
According to the lawyers and the founders of the firms, the goal of the intimidation is to eliminate the companies and take over their business. The two companies were subject to intimidation by having their offices searched and passenger registers, hardware and mobile phones confiscated. As a result, their operations were practically interrupted.
