The International Festival of Literary Creation “Titel Constantinescu” will take place in Edinet on August 26-28. The event will gather over 60 writers, artists, critics and philologists from different countries. About 1000 authors submitted works for the contest and 12 will win prizes.
Mayor of Edinet Constantin Cojocari told IPN that the festival is organized under the patronage of the Writers' Union of Romania. Last year, it took place in Ramnicu Sarat, Romania, a twin town of Edinet.
“This is a festival of international renown, with participants from France, Italy, Romania, Greece, Hungary, Poland and many other countries. The best works will receive awards. Several books from Moldova will be launched. Also, the busts of Pan Halippa and Mihai Eminescu will be inaugurated, as well as a basrelief of Dumitru Fusu. We will open several literary and painting workshops and reading circles”, said Cojocari. The public will have access to several exhibitions opened on the occasion of the festival.
The Edinet Town Hall allotted 50,000 lei for the organization of the event.
