Edineț Health Center to get new digital X-ray machine thanks to Japan

The Edineț District Health Center will be equipped with a new digital X-ray machine that will be purchased under the Kusanone Human Security Grants Program. The new equipment will enable the examination and diagnosis of a much larger number of people than is possible with the old machine, said Japan’s Ambassador to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro during the ceremony of signing the $130,000 grant agreement.

Ambassador Yamada Yoichiro noted that a safer and more accurate machine will enable greater cooperation with large hospitals that will receive clearer radiographs, as radioactive exposure will decrease considerably. “All over the world, Japan is helping community medical centers to be provided with modern equipment through the Kusanone grant program. This is based on our belief in the importance of people’s health and life”, said the Japanese diplomat.

Oleg Guțan, director of the Edineț Health Center, said that “thanks to the grant offered to buy the digital X-ray machine, which is invaluable for the citizens of the Edineț district and beyond, patients will enjoy an efficient, high-quality and modern medical examination”.

Health State Secretary Alexandru Gasnaș noted that the Edineț Center is an important regional health care provider. “The Edineț Health Center deserves to have devices and equipment of the latest generation, to fit into the whole picture we are trying to create”, said the official.

The Kusanone grant program provides non-refundable financial assistance to hospitals, local authorities, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations to support the implementation of development projects.
