Edineț District Hospital equipped with mobile radiological unit thanks to Germany and IOM

The Edineț District Hospital was outfitted with a mobile radiological unit that facilitates accurate visualization of the positioning of bone fragments, guides fracture fixation and insertion of screws and plates during surgery. The Hospital’s director Viorel Cioclea, said that the mobile radiological unit will ensure swift and accurate diagnoses, thus supporting doctors’ efforts to provide high-quality medical services. The equipment was installed in the traumatology and orthopedics department of the institution and is functional. The first three patients already benefited from the necessary examinations, IPN reports.

The equipment was donated by the German Federal Foreign Office as part of the project “Humanitarian and protection assistance for vulnerable people in Ukraine and neighboring countries affected by the conflict”. The donation is worth €140,000 and includes two mobile radiological units that were delivered to the district hospitals in Edineț and Cahul.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Ion Prisacaru said that the Edineț District Hospital will be strengthened to provide high-quality services. The Ministry of Health continues to work together with international partners to improve the health system and ensure access to high-quality medical services for all the country’s citizens.

“Health aid is very important for the population’s quality of life. When our children are sick or when our children experience particular difficulties, this affects us much more. Therefore, it is important to improve the quality of the medical system in order to improve the quality of life in the Republic of Moldova,” said program coordinator of the International Organization for Migration Vismara Margherita.
