All the sportsmen and coaches that have contributed to the achievements in international Judo competitions will receive money prizes from Edelweiss foundation, upon Vlad Plahotniuc’s request. The businessman is both Honorable President of the Moldovan Judo Federation and founder of Edelweiss foundation, Info-Prim Neo reports. Victor Scvortov, Stanislav Cernega, Marcel Trudov, Valeriu Duminica and Sergiu Toma are some of best Moldovan Judokas who have conquered silverware since summer till last month. “It has been a successful year for the Judo federation. We all know that in August, Stanislav Cernega won the gold medal at the European Cup in 100kg category. Two weeks ago, Toma Sergiu and Victor Scvortov returned with a bronze medal and 5th place award from the Grand Prix in Rotterdam, Netherlands”, said Lara Castravet, project coordinator at Edelweiss. The Judo Federation is sponsored by Vlad Plahotniuc since 2004. Thanks to his contribution, Moldovan Judokas had the possibility to participate in international competitions, training camps and to achieve important successes, thus improving the reputation of Moldovan sportsmen worldwide”, an Edelweiss release reads.
