The lovers of opera and ballet will be able to see masterpieces from the international cultural heritage owing to the support provided this year by the Edelweiss Foundation to the Festival “Maria Biesu Invites”, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the organization’s PR Department. According to the communiqué, soloists and conductors from eight countries will take part in this year’s festival that will take place between September 10 and 17. They will perform on the stages of the National Opera House, the National Palace and the Organ Hall. ”The Festival “Maria Biesu Invites” already became part of Moldova’s cultural heritage and international opera. This is one of the few events that make out country famous for its cultural values. The Foundation’s contribution is aimed at continuing and developing this cultural tradition,” said Vlad Plahotniuc, the founder of Edelweiss Foundation. Valeria Sheican, the head of the National Opera House, said this new cooperation offers an additional chance of bringing internationally famous plays to Chisinau and of staging new plays. Among the participants in the festival are: Ignasio Encinas (Spain), Olga Perrier (France), Daniela Stigliano (Italy), Emmanuel Siffert (Switzerland), Roman Muravitschi (Russia), Marius Manea (Romania), Felicia Felip (Romania), Alexei Baklan (Ukraine), Tatiana Anisimova (Ukraine), David Gvinianidze (Georgia). The festival’s program includes the operas “Aida”, “Traviata”, “Masked Ball” (G.Verdi), “Madame Butterfly” (G.Puccini), the ballets “Gizelle” (A. Adam) and “The Swan Lake” (P.I. Ceaikovski). A charity concert will be given at the Organ Hall on September 12. The gala concert will take place at the National Palace on September 17.
