Economy & Trade ministerial lineup completed

Iurie Muntean has been appointed Deputy Economy and Trade Minister, completing MET’s team of four alongside Minister Igor Dodon and Deputy Ministers Sergiu Sainciuc and Tudor Copaci. Muntean is charged with supervising issues related to domestic and foreign trade, standardization and conformity of goods and services, Info-Prim Neo reports. Iurie Muntean, who turns 36 this month, boasts a rich experience in the field and relevant grounding. His previous position was general director of the Center for Productivity and Competitiveness “ARIA”, a self-funded agency connected to MET and charged with implementing quality management systems, assisting enterprises during major restructurings and providing support to investors and exporters. A lawyer by profession (graduated from the Moldova State University), Muntean was project manager at the law firm “Justil Group”; worked as head of the law department of the Agency for Business Restructuring ARIA, at the time when it implemented World Bank projects in supporting the private sector; taught the course “Government regulation in foreign trade relations” at the Free International University. He has skills in elaborating analytical studies, drafting normative acts and development programs. Completed an MBA at the Bled School of Management in Slovenia and attended various courses at the Japan International Cooperation Agency, at the Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Labor Organization (Turin).
