Economy Ministry announces priorities for 2010
The Ministry of Economy has made public its priorities for 2010, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Ministry will concentrate on the implementation of the economic recovery and stabilization program for 2009 – 2011, Deputy Premier and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said during a news conference.
“The document was formulated with the participation of businessmen, representatives of the civil society and development partners. It is designed to improve the situation in all the areas of activity and reinvigorate the economy,” he said.
The Ministry of Economy will be in charge of the improvement of the system for regulating the entrepreneurial activity. In this connection, Lazar informed that there was drafted a plan of measures for removing the administrative constraints in the business sector that will contribute to the demonopolization of imports and exports, implementation of modern financial reporting and statistics technologies at companies.
Some of the measures have been already implemented. Among these, Lazar mentioned the abrogation of Order No. 36 that obliged certifying every batch of imported products, formulation of a balanced certification and compliance assessment system, annulment of the state marks put on alcoholic products, reduction of the classified list of products from the regulated area that are subject to obligatory certification of compliance.
In 2010, the Ministry of Economy will support the sustainable development of the SMEs by facilitating their access to loans, will contribute to the attraction of strategic investments, will develop the legislation on consumer and market protection.
Another important objective is to increase energy efficiency and use renewable sources of energy, strengthen the capacity of the Agency for Energy Efficiency and theEnergy Efficiency Fund.
Lazar also said that a lot of work was done to improve the structure of the Ministry of Economy so that it becomes an institution that promotes commercial, industrial, energy policies, policies aimed at protecting the consumer and the market.
