Economy Commission approves proposal to delay e-invoicing by a year

Parliament’s Economy and Finance Commission has approved the proposal to delay until 1 July 2020 the introduction of the requirement for providers to exclusively issue electronic invoices in public procurement transaction, IPN reports.

MP Igor Munteanu (ACUM/DA), chair of the Commission, argued that economic operators are not yet ready to issue electronic invoices, and the entry into force of the requirement on July 1 as planned would affect revenues to the State Budget.

At the same time, the Commission has formally objected to a bill proposing the so-called “individual fiscal solution.” “This procedure has already been incorporated into the Fiscal Code through other amendments, so there is no need for an additional piece of legislation.” The bill, sponsored by MP Andrian Candu (PDM), has already passed the first reading.
