By the same decree, there were set down the regulations concerning the activity of the consultative councils working under the President of the Republic of Moldova. Under these, the role of consultative councils is to examine the problems of major interest faced by the state, society and to inform the President about them. The President can designate any person as a member of the consultative council, including representatives of noncommercial organizations, the business community, civil society from the corresponding fields, public functionaries and public figures.

The work done by the members of the consultative councils is voluntary work executed outside the working hours and is not remunerated.
